Product Review: Tone Moisturizing Body Wash (Part 1)

toneDisclaimer: I’m a member of the BzzAgent program and received a free sample of Tone’s moisturizing body wash and some coupons as part of the campaign. The thoughts and opinions expressed in this post are my honest opinion of the product. I was not required to write this review, nor was I compensated for writing it.

Now that the nitty gritty business details are out of the way, let me tell you a little bit about Tone’s new line of moisturizing body washes. This winter has been particularly harsh on my skin. Like most people, I get a little dry when the weather gets cold; but this year I’ve suffered outright with itchy skin and eczema patches. Ouch!

That said, finding a body wash that would not make my skin feel even worse, especially combined with the harder mineral water in my neighborhood, felt like a bit of a challenge. That’s part of why I was particularly interested in this particular BzzAgent campaign. According to my friends, I’m not the only one who is suffering right now.

I have to admit, I was a little bit disappointed when I opened my BzzAgent box and saw the Pink Peony & Rose oil scent inside. Flowery scents aren’t really my thing, especially since strong floral scents tend to tug at my allergies. I shrugged it off, snapped a few pictures, and put the bottle in the bathroom so it would be ready to grab.

My first reaction to my first shower with this body wash was mixed. The scent didn’t exactly overwhelm me the way I had expected it might, but it was still a scent I wasn’t used to. I noticed that the scent lingered on my skin for quite a while after my shower – something else I don’t generally look for when choosing a body wash. On the upside, the lingering scent didn’t bother my sinuses or allergies, so it was more a surprise than a bother.

What I liked about the body wash, for sure, was the ingredient list. Like I said, my skin had been crying for weeks, so a moisturizing wash other than my normal Dollar General pick was certainly welcome. This particular moisturizing body wash contains vitamin E (excellent for moisturizing), and rose oil (great for softening your skin).

Reservations aside, I continued to use the body wash and am still using this particular bottle. The scent doesn’t bother me at all and I’m very happy with the moisturizing effect that continued as I kept using the body wash.

I mean, let’s be real – who wouldn’t be glad that her skin stopped itching?!

I’m definitely not done with this product (or, technically, this review). I plan on picking up another scent from the line and giving it a try. I’m hoping my go-to store will have the soothing oatmeal blend. That’s one of my favorite combinations.

Stay tuned…
