Product Review: Tone Moisturizing Body Wash (Part 2)

A couple of weeks ago I wrote the first part of my Tone Moisturizing Body Wash review, after having used the new Pink Peony and Rose Oil scent from the complete line. When I last left you, I was happy with the results I was getting from using the new scent but I wanted to try another one. On my next trip to WalMart, I picked up a bottle of the Soothing Oatmeal with Shea Butter. The only thing I did wrong was in forgetting to take a coupon for me. That’s OK, though – more for my friends to try. [Read more…]

Now that the nitty gritty business details are out of the way, let me tell you a little bit about Tone’s new line of moisturizing body washes. This winter has been particularly harsh on my skin. Like most people, I get a little dry when the weather gets cold; but this year I’ve suffered outright with itchy skin and eczema patches. Ouch! [Read more…]

Product Review: Green Mountain Fair Trade Coffee

Mention the Green Mountain name to any true coffee lover and you’re bound to hear a little bit of excitement in the responses you get. Everyone I told about this campaign said, “Oh, Green Mountain is a good brand of coffee,” or some similar variation. I knew, with all the coffee lovers in my life, that getting others to try coffee wouldn’t be too difficult.

The campaign itself wasn’t just about coffee though. It was about Fair Trade coffee. As part of this campaign, we were encouraged to visit and encourage others to view ChooseFairTrade.com. This is a great website where you can learn about what Fair Trade really means and how Green Mountain is striving to offer Fair Trade coffee blends to the public. As part of their campaign, Green Mountain sent superstar Kelly Clarkson to Peru to visit some of the local coffee farmers. She got to learn not only about the process of farming coffee beans but how the Fair Trade campaign has altered the lives of the farmers involved. Fair Trade, to be clear, is a logo applied to products that have agreed to pay farmers and manufacturers in foreign countries a fair wage for the products they produce. It applies not only to coffee, but to a wide variety of other foods and goods as well. [Read more…]

What on Earth is Anki Drive?

STARTER_KIT_angle_whiteI have to admit, I’m not the biggest tech geek on the planet. I can turn my computer on, and I can even troubleshoot when it isn’t working right (I’m a system restore whiz). I have a smartphone, but it’s the dumbest thing on the planet. I barely use the features, so I have all of the data roaming shut off and the phone really just works as a regular call/text phone. You can’t even send me an image on it. It’s just that lame.

So when I started hearing about Anki,I wasn’t sure what to think. But I have to be honest, there is something incredibly cool about a company that can find a way to combine robotics and artificial intelligence and create a car racing game. [Read more…]

Product Review: Kashi All Natural Hummus Crisps

The thoughts and opinions expressed in this post are my honest opinion of the product. I was not required to write this review, nor was I compensated for writing it.

Kashi has a reputation for being a brand that offers healthier snack options, so I have to admit I was a little excited when I got an invitation to take part in the BzzAgent Hummus Crisp program. I anxiously awaited the arrival of my kit.

Hummus crisps are made with chickpeas and whole grains. They contain 3g of protein, 4g of fiber, and 6g of whole grains, and only 3.5g of total fat per serving. Kashi’s packaging says there are no artificial ingredients, no partially hydrogenated oils, and no high fructose corn syrup. For those looking for a healthier alternative to chips and other snacks, Kashi Hummus Crisps look like a great chip. [Read more…]
