Archives for January 2017

I have a few important tasks on my to-do list but today seemed like a day to step back and relax a little, just focusing on work. The deadlines for the other tasks aren’t looming yet, so it’s OK to regroup and refocus.

I’m on day 4 of my writing productivity challenge. I’ll write about that more when I launch one of my other sites. Looks like I’ll be getting ready to write a short eBook soon, though.

F has only been off of antibiotics for a week and wasn’t feeling great today. I have been headachy for a couple of days. Tis the season, I guess. [Read more…]

Healthcare? What’s that?

My day today wasn’t as productive as I had hoped it would be.

The main area of concern was an appointment we had scheduled for F on Friday – a trip to a new pulmonologist. They’re calling for a little bit of snow but it will be happening during the morning hours. It’s an 8am appointment so we thought we’d try to call and reschedule to be safe. We figured we should stay off the road, and it would be likely they may have trouble getting in as well.  [Read more…]

Vet Adventures

Today didn’t exactly go as planned. It was pouring rain when I had to leave to take Chyna to the vet. We went to the office that had the first available appointment, so that meant I went on I-295 to get to Mt. Laurel. I prettymuch white-knuckled the steering wheel the entire way. I was going at or slightly under the speed limit the entire time and people were flying past me on the puddling roads. Insanity.

Chyna (about 8 months old now) hates going to the vet and getting in the carrier. I knew as soon as we walked in the door that she would be even more anxious. The Mt. Laurel office is a lot larger and louder than the Atco office. Even I was feeling anxious.  [Read more…]

Federal Holiday Woes

I didn’t actually realize today was the federally observed New Year’s Day, so I was ready to dive into a lot of projects and found myself a little bit stuck. Oops. Here I was, ready to seriously rock and roll, and half the world was still closed for the holiday.

It’s all good. I still got quite a bit done. I got WordPress installed on the three new domains I’ll be using as I rebrand my online business branch. We taught some good (albeit small) classes at the dojo. I have a few other things to do this evening, including the first day of a challenge/class I’m doing this month. If I’m ambitious, I may call my hosting provider so I can merge my accounts together, but let’s not hold our breaths. I may, realistically, have to do that tomorrow.  [Read more…]

Happy New Year!

fireworksI don’t want this to sound like a resolution, because it isn’t one. I was wondering what it would be like if I managed to put up a small blog blurb every day, though. I mean, does it really need to be long or profound? Will you hold it against me if I just decide to free-flow out of my brain for a minute or two before I shut down each night?

I said on Facebook that I didn’t make any resolutions this year. That’s true. I did look at the 4 main tenants of my professional existence and did a little work to figure out where I am, why things didn’t go right this year (mostly out of my control), and what I can do this year to refocus and regroup. I think I’ve got it figured out and I’ll be excited to share some of what happens as I progress throughout the year.

Peace to all of you. Maybe I’ll get to know you a bit better this year (and you me).
